1K help for a newb
Hi everyone, hoping to get some input on roasting on a 1k. I've just done a handful of roasts and today did my first on roast path. I'm roasting 453 grams. After reading some posts here I realize I've starting my charge far too hot as I'm hitting first crack around 5:00. Does anyone have any 1k profiles they'd like to share or maybe share some temp targets or when gas/air/drum speed changes are suggested? Any advice, suggestions are appreciated.
For a half batch sized roast, reduce your preheat charge temp to 390F and turn the burners off at charge for the first 30 seconds.
This will slow everything down and give you the roast control you're looking for.
