Bags and Labels

Any suggestions on packaging and label companies, especially one(s) that has a decent MOQ? I know about these but wanted to cast a wider net.

Would also love your thoughts on bags that are printed vs using stickers for the logo and label (from a startup perspective). I'm starting where I'm comfortable and able to afford but was curious about bag presentation when just entering the market.

I've also noticed some roasters moving toward 10oz vs 12oz bags?

Thanks!

Hey Richard,

We have always really enjoyed Roastar, and the minimum order requirement is usually a pretty big selling point for folks starting out small. Not easy to find that anywhere.

Below I've listed PBFY for bulk bag needs. You can find a lot of the common stand up pouches that folks use for coffee, and various kraft bag options as wel.

Also listed is ePac. We checked out their facility a few years back. Worth taking a peak.

A well thought out design on a printed bag can make all the difference on the shelf. The appearance of the product can be a huge selling point. It may seem daunting to design a bag for every coffee BUT if you create a design that leaves space for a sticker you customizet for 'x' coffee offering, you can make that bag go far.

If you go the sticker and bag route, I have always enjoyed the rolled down 8-10oz kraft bags that has a cool label wrapping over the top to seal it down. That way it's one label for front and back.

A stand up pouch will need a front and back sticker

With either bag option, keep the design simple and to the point. Don't crowd the information, and deliver a clear message on your packaging.

Hope this gives you some ideas!
