Cold Brew - Beer making
I have a company that is interested in a cold brew coffee that will work for a water replacement in brewing a milk beer (porter style). Has anyone done this and have experience in the end product and flavors? Looking for tips and advice. THANK YOU!
Hi @youandme. Our coffee is in a few beers. We partnered with a really talented brewer and Side Hustle Brewing Co produced the #1 Stout in the State of South Carolina. Here is a link: https://sidehustlebrewingcosc.com/bean-counter/
Let me know how I can support.
Regards,
Doug
We've had great success with multiple brewery collaborations with coffee used in the conditioning stage (after primary fermentation once the beer has cooled down). We advised against using coffee during primary fermentation or as water replacement as holding coffee at warm temps for weeks results in off-putting flavors. Hope that helps and good luck!
