Roastpath Freezing during roast

We have been having an increasing amount of times that Roastpath is freezing up during roasting which has ruined a few batches now. We are unsure if its the app or our computer that is freezing up. Just seeing if anyone else is having issues? We do close the app and reopen a few times throughout the day to see if that helps but so far doesn't seem to matter.

We've been dealing with internet bots intermittently overloading the server for a couple of weeks. Nick and Cole are monitoring that, both actively blocking some IP addresses and making a plan to upgrade our servers for more bandwidth.

It might be malicious or I might be paranoid.

When this happens, please let us know. The entire system depends on connectivity and everything has to work exactly correctly to function. Your specific issues could be a hacker in Germany or a bad USB cable. It is vital to everyone involved that we know which.

When this happens, call in 24/7 at 612-886-2089 to give us a heads up. What you're doing is important enough that we still answer the phone from 8 am to 5 pm central time and we monitor voice mail after hours.

We've got an all hands dev meeting today at 10:00 am. I'll make sure everyone is read in and ask support to reach out to you direct.

Thanks Steve. We are roasting 400lb today so will definitely call in if we get a frozen app today. Also will try replacing our USB cable to rule that out.

Hi @gradient ,

We recently released new sideload versions of the RoastPATH App for both Windows and Mac. These new versions should have improved app stability and communication reliability. Maybe give the new version a try and see if it helps.

Okay thanks, we will download the new app and see how it goes tomorrow. We did plug the usb into another port on our laptop and did not have any freezes last week. Keep you posted. Thank you
