Warmup and BBP

Curious what everyone's warmup process and between batch protocol looks like?

I turn the machine on with medium airflow and gas at half level until it gets to about 350, then go full gas until it starts beeping.

Then wait for about 20 minutes of it cycling on and off. I try to start with a second crack roast as my first few for the day if able. Sometimes I can since I have dark roast orders, sometimes I can't. If I had to start with a light roast I'd leave it an extra 10 minutes or so doing its thing.

For between batch generally what I do is just wait until the cooling fan stops by itself before charging it. Gives it a few minutes to warm back up and stabilize.

Depending on what I've been roasting I do a cleaning between 3-5 roasts of the chaff collector, tray and so on.

@raccroasters

Thanks, when yours cycles off and kicks back on what is the temperature difference from when the gas cuts off and kicks back on? My PID theres a 30 degree spread. I was curious if theres a way to shorten that to maybe a 10 to 15 degree spread.

Oh a lot less than that, its just a couple degrees, like it goes up 3-4 degrees and that's it
