Label applicator?...labeling bags
So we hand label all of our bags...12oz flat/box bottom bags with pull zip seal. The label is 4"x5"...and it's a less than efficient process (not to mention making sure there are no bubbles etc.). Has anyone found or can anyone recommend a manual label applicator that works with coffee bags? There's plenty out there for bottles, but I'm having a hard time finding anything for coffee bags. I can find automated machines, but we're not there yet.
If you don't have a manual label machine, what do you all do or recommend to either speed up the process or get a good result most of the time?
Hi Ender - A DIY half step might be to build a jig. Have base jig or guide where you put the bag into a specific spot and then a second jig that hinges down over top that allows you to place the edge of the bag where you want it (sort of a very shallow U shape so you get the left/right correct) and then you smooth up/away to stick the label onto the bag. I've done this before using matboard (the type used in art framing). It's thin enough to work in layers like this but thick enough to give you a little edge to bump up against. It'll wear out with use but you just replace it.
Thanks, Angie! I appreciate the info.
